Failed to connect and banned?

Hello!

I started playing on this server quite recently, and everything have worked flawlessly up until now.
Yesterday i ran into some problems trying to log on, it simply stated "Failed to connect". I tried again and it said the same thing. I tried to log on again a couple of times over the next 30 min, only got the failed to connect message. I then tried to restart my modem, as it have been causing stuff like this before (albeit, it have stopped now), but had no success. After some more tries it seem to have connected, only to state that my account had been closed. I checked the forum for solutions (as i, as far as i know, hadn't done anything to warrant a ban), and settled upon that i had tried with the wrong password one too many times (can't say that i really believed that at first though, as i remember my password quite clearly and its easy to type), and that i should wait out the ban.

Now here i am today, 24 hours later, and it is still saying the same things, have tried most of the solutions found on the stickies (checked the realmlist, config, removed the WTF folder, checked the compatibility...), but again, no success.

Can i get some info on what i might be able to do (thinking of restarting the modem again+reinstalling wow)? And what the whole closed account ordeal is all about, was i really banned for something, and if so, what?

EDIT: Just realized your account name is in your signature. Let a GM confirm whether or not it's banned.

What's your account name so a GM can check to see if it's banned or not? Start there because if it is indeed banned (I doubt it is though), it'll save you all the hassle of restarting your modem, reinstalling WoW, disabling firewalls, opening ports, etc.

Yeah i forgot to add it when i posted the question, so i edited it in via the signature, will remove it now though.

Your account has not been banned. Please make sure that you are typing your password correctly.

Ok, well that's out of the way, but that do not solve my other issues. I will continue to investigate, probably go ahead with my earlier mentioned plan.

I would really like some advice though :)

EDIT: uninstalling then re-installing didn't work, neither did adding a process-exclusion in my anti-malware program.

EDIT 2: Using a VPN service yielded no result, still a mix of unable to "connect" and "closed account", seems to have switched to be dominantly replying with "closed account" now.

EDIT 3: Breakthrough! I tried creating another account, and it appears to be working, this rules out any technical problems on my side, but don't really explain why the other account won't work if

I guess it was the wrong password all along? but should it not have been unlocked by now? or does it add time for each failed attempt or something? if so i might be banned for the next week or so now, so many times i have tried now, jikes.

Try to wait 24 hours before logging in again

Also try un-checking save account name on the login screen, close application, open it and manually enter the name.
