Warpwood DM West Glitch

by hobedebobski » Wed Jun 03, 2015 5:37 pm

Account name: Hobedebobski
Character name: Zapskiee
Instance: Dire Maul West
In-Game time: 7:30 PM
Date: June 3, 2015

Event:

My group is killing Tendris Warpwood, and I am standing on the incline. I get rooted and then fall thru the map. After quite some time, I teleport out of the dungeon, alive. I had done over 2k damage to Warpwood before getting glitched out of Dire Maul. I start typing how i am out of dungeon, everyone starts saying to not loot. And this fool loots him. Of course the belt drops. When I get back into the instance I can't loot the belt. Is there any chance I can get the belt from a GM? This isn't some mistake need or anything like that, this is a server glitch which is what kept me from getting the belt. A rogue named Dyslexic ultimately looted the belt for vendor.

You're not going to receive the belt because it is not raid loot and not caused by a server crash (rollback).

In any case, there are a few things to note which would get your request declined instantly if it were raid loot:
  • The belt has already been vendored, therefore a staff member would have to deduct the sell price from the character in order to transfer it to you.
  • No proof of the character receiving the item
  • No witnesses have been identified
  • (there is no am/pm on server time -- this bulletpoint is a joke :))

I'd agree with the fact that its not caused by a rollback/server crash. But its caused by a server-wide problem that should have been fixed in their "testing" phase where 300 people "tested" this area on their "PTR". And once identified while "testing" this bug should have been handled/fixed, instead of them releasing a bugged dungeon. Its one thing if it was released with the whole of the game as things can sneak by, but a patch that they were testing for so long and is so bugged, this is all on them. Until I get a real GM's response saying something along the lines of even though its THEIR fault, and they STILL won't give me said loot, ill keep adding to it to keep it front of page.

Even if this bug was not reported, the staff holds no liability because of Murphy's Law and the players have an understanding that nothing will be 100% bug-free. The tests only mean that the players are able to report any bugs/glitches they find. This does not mean every single bug is found and reported.

Attempting to push responsibility upon the developers for an item that you will most likely receive within the next 2-10 times of running Dire Maul won't get you anywhere. Why not just go back and farm it? It isn't the end of the world.

Just some advice: no one likes a person that cries when things don't go their way. Take the game with a grain of salt, go outside, breathe fresh air, and come back to farm your gear. It may help.

You think testing can cover any bug?
You could test this with 5000 people and still there's a chance nobody stands on the exact spot you were on and triggers this.
You think there's no bugs on retail? You play on a private server, you should accept the fact there will be some bugs.

Regardless of all that, as Aunstic said even if this was a case where it could be returned, you provide no actual proof, not even of the belt dropping.

I'm not crying, this is a support thread, and im making my thread looking for support, not for someone to ridicule me. So you can just stop responding if thats how you treat this thread.

Secondly, for you to say "this is a private server, get what you get and be happy" I would be if this was an undedicated private server, when they just release a whole server without testing things...

but, they DO test things.

This is such an obvious glitch that with 10, 20, 200, 300, or "5000 "testers" " it should have been found and fixed.

To protect any glitch problem posts on forums saying "but this is a private server" is ridiculous. Because the reason you play this server is because it isn't just another "private server". They have GM's dedicated to this content, and they test content, and their GM's are always active, and thats why im playing here.

So ill keep my post up and wait for a GM's response, and ignore anyone that uses these forums to heckle anyone that has any type of complaint about other support threads.

Item refunds

Epic raid items can be restored in the case of a server crash/roll-back, providing a message is sent to us which fulfills the following conditions:

Exact date of the raid;
Screenshot of the raid ID;
Screenshot of the loot & Full list of raid members;
Name of the player who received the item.

We answered your question. Each in our own way maybe, i had no intent to be rude.
You can keep waiting but the answer from any GM will be the same.

Thank you for an actual link to the item restoration rules. And as you guys have said, I can obviously get this loot easily, as the high drop chance. I just want some sort of GM response, as glitch's like this are uncalled for in content that they test for weeks before release. It's the lower drop rate items that will cause people to really uproar over a situation of this caliber... Best regards.

The only exception to this rule is raid level epics, for which some special rules can be found in our Terms of Use here:

unfortunately we do not restore items lost after a rollback, except epic (raid)items should they be gone after a server rollback.

unfortunately we do not "fix" looting mistakes as that would open a massive can of worms. Only exception are raid level epic items lost due to a server crash, as stated in the TOU.

I'm done with you. I know this conversation will end in one of us being accused of rape, so I mind as well post some feminist triggering stuff.

You have my attitude mistaken as much as I have for yours. I hope not every GM response is as conceited as this one. But no, a GM response telling me no is all i was looking for.
