Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I was on the part of the quest where I had to pick up a summoned item. When he summoned the item, i was ganked and corpse camped until the item was gone. He will not summon it again when I drop the quest and start it over. I was wondering if there is anything you can do to resolve this?
