I know there are tough situations where people have been trade scammed or have sold items and have no proof, and then it is pretty much tough luck for them. I don't have a screenshot of the dialogue box saying "Are you sure you want to destroy your salt shaker with the same inv_egg_05 icon as the distress beacon?" but I was fortunate enough to have a Cured Rugged Hide with my name on it as the creator. I also have the name of the engineer who created it for me.
And thanks for the reply, Joe.

If your ticket is something they can help with and you are online, a GM will most likely whisper you if a discussion is required with the ticket. Tickets like "Gold seller xxxx Screenshot: yyyy" may be closed without discussion as they will handle the player and most likely have more than one ticket about this type of report. If a GM can assist with something or can give tips to help you and you are online, they will whisper you with the necessary information. If you are offline, no worries! Your ticket may be answered and the staff will send an in-game mail with a reply to your ticket if you do not see your ticket open.
If a player has been scammed and the offending player has been banned, there may be a case where you can receive the scammed money back. Proof does help, but it does not hurt to inquire about a money loss due to a scam.
If you have deleted an item from your inventory, I'm very sorry to say that the staff will not recover deleted items. They are not "out to get you" by any means, but it trails into a "do it for one player, do it for all" scenario in this case. This is why the staff may tell you that the players must be responsible for their actions at this point.
