Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hello, from the compendium book i opened the quest led me to npc Lorekeeper Lydros and from him I received the blade that you are suppose to place under Onyxias fire for it to be complete but when I clicked on the item while I was by the npc it was placed on the ground and after some time it disappeared and I never got it back in my bag, so I abanonded the quest but I couldn't accept the Quest from the npc since he still required the complete blade so I can't accept the quest again and the blade is lost, need help with this.
Ingame name: Ereek.

GM contacted me but when I answered back he was not online it seemed, I hope he gets back to me because my ticket is still active it says.

This is weird when i first started the ticket i was contacted within 30min but i tried to reply him back didn't work said he was not currently playing, but now I don't get contacted anymore still waiting for respond

I'm having the same issue. There is a yellow "!" over Lorekeeper but I can't get the quest and a new Unfired Ancient Blade.

Have posted ticket ingame but not received an answer yet.

Ok guys I have found a solution that bypasses this bug. You need to finish the quest Elven Legends (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=7482) before. Then you are able to re-take this quest
