I have 10g on my horde character and I want to transfer it to my alliance character (both the same account) can i use the black auctionhouse in booty bay like I used to do in retail to transfer the money over?

You cannot transfer using the same account (you can't buy or bid on items on AH which was posted from same account).

So what you need is two accounts to do the transaction. That is legal, as long one of the characters is only logged on for that sole purpose (to do the transaction on AH).

Ah, this applies to the neutral AH, too? I never tried it in retail, but I know you're allowed to transfer items/gold across factions by yourself, as the neutral AH's cut and the risk of doing so makes it fair.
