Cannot see system messages in chat box

I've had this problem on one of my characters. I cannot see system messages like /roll or when you shift click a player's name in chat, it should show their character info. I've uninstalled the game, disabled/moved addons and for whatever reason this one character still has this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Try running WoW as an administrator.

If that doesn't work, see if your World of Warcraft Classic folder has been installed under the C:\Program Files (x86) directory. If it is, remove it from the Program Files folder by cutting and pasting the folder directly on C:\, so it'll look like C:\World of Warcraft Classic.
