Account RIP because email deactivated unknowingly, help!

by Stuartar » Mon Jun 22, 2015 7:45 pm

So I tried using the email password retrieval for one of my accounts, and when logging into the email to find the new password, it came up and said that the account doesn't exist, apparently it has been deactivated by Microsoft Outlook, which I did not know.

Is there anything you can do to help? This account has my level 60, so gonna kinda suck if he can never be played again:S

Thankyou.

Sadly at the current time Nostalrius doesn't/cannot recover lost accounts. Your best bet is to get in contact with the Microsoft Support and explain to them that you've got services linked to your email address. Microsoft rarely delete accounts and/or emails associated with those accounts, they lock them so users can no longer access them. If you explain kindly that you just want to change email for those services, they might give you temporary access. Might even restore full access.

Apparently the email may have been purged from the system it seems, so I don't think I can access that email, is there anything that you can do?

Afraid not. The only thing that I can suggest now is that you double check the account name and try to remember the password. You could also wait for a Staff member to reply but they'll most likely give somewhat of a similar response that they don't recover lost accounts. You can view all accounts you've logged into by going to the respective directory that you're using.
Code: Select all
C:\World of Warcraft Classic\WTF\Account\
C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft Classic\WTF\Account\

P.S: If you've deleted the WTF folder in the past, any account before the deletion won't be shown.

Do you think maybe as the email technically does not exist at the moment, that the password would not have been changed? otherwise remembering the password won't do anything if the reset has worked?

The password will not have changed since you're sent an email with a link that takes you to the password creation.
