Morning or Evening, which ever is correct for you currently.
At around 7am central US this morning, I awoke after celebrating the exciting achievement of getting my rogue, Ashesofjews, to level 40 and doing so the early morning of Fourth of July too as well as seeing the even more exciting news that Alterac Valley is soon to be released AND it's gonna be released on my 24th birthday. So you can imagine the hype for this month is real.

Unfortunately that hype was shut down when I arouse from thy slumber with an insatiable yearning to continue playing my rogue only to be greeted with a message: This account has been closed.

Now I can inquire as to why exactly it was closed however I can take a gander and guess it was because of my name, right? Because of all the closed-minded players that are feeling some kind of offense by it. Somehow it's affecting their game play when in reality it has no more affect than if someone was driving down their street without them even knowing.

Why do people like to jump to conclusions? Why do people like to judge and make accusations without even knowing the full story of the situation? Why do people judge or do things out of spite and vindictive behavior?

"Don't judge a book by its cover” - George Eliot
"When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself" - Earl Nightingale
"Don't criticize what you can't understand. Don't judge a book by its cover. You may miss out on a good story." - Unknown

I'd like to share my background a little, the inspiration and explanation behind the name I chose.
My great-grandmother was an unfortunate victim of the, Holocaust. She wasn't at the prestigious (sarcasm for the sarcastic illiterate) camp, Auschwitz, but she was at one that I feel was just a few rankings of being just as bad as, Auschwitz.

I'm referring to the camp known as, Buchenwald, where they were forced to perform slave labor until they collapsed of: exhaustion, dehydration, starvation or, what have you and then their bodies burned. Sadly my great-grandmother did not survive this camp however her daughter, my grandmother did.* When I was a young child and would visit my grandmother she would often tell me stories of my great-grandmother. Stories about how courageous, empowering and, nurturing she was. Doing everything and anything in her power to make sure her daughter felt comfortable, nourished and, without fear of dying without future in a place some refer to as: Man's creation of hell. Sadly my great-grandmother died of exhaustion caused from malnutrition on: April 4th, 1945 one week from, Buchenwald's, liberation. My grandmother would talk about her with such passion though that it continues to move and inspire me to this day. They're definitely my favorite memories of my childhood.

Another key-note to my name is the lore of the, Phoenix.
I was always fascinated with how they combust into flames in their final days of life only to undergo genesis from their ashes. So the breakdown of my name, Ashesofjews, is three parts symbolism:

Part one: Ashes symbolizes the ashes of the, Phoenix, and it's life of infinite genesis.
Part two: Jews symbolizes my great-grandmother and her determination to make sure her lineage survived.
Part three: Ashesofjews symbolizes not only the memory of great-grandmother but also the hope that I have that one day she will be reincarnated from the ashes just like the immaculate phoenix.

So contrary to belief in thinking it was created for "trolling", it was actually created in memory of my beloved great-grandmother, may she rip.

Now that I've shared my story, I can only hope that the people of the beautifully scripted, Nostalrius, look upon things from a vastly more open mind and different perspective. Also I'd like my account reopened since I feel it was wrongly closed. It could also make for a great birthday present along with your exciting release of: pre-nerf Alterac Valley. Thanks in advance for reading my request and hope you enjoyed getting to know my past a little.

*You might ask yourself: "How does a child survive over a grown adult? The answer is that children unfortunate enough to be dragged into these camps with their parents were prized; meaning that these parents' did everything in their unconditional love and power to keep them going and alive. Whatever rations my great-grandmother did receive she gave them to my, grandmother, along with words of encouragement to keep her energy and spirits up, to push through the hard laboring days.

Greetings!

This is a very unfortunate and sad story. However, your name is in violation of the ToU. You had been warned three times and flagged for rename three times. Despite the back story you should have named your character something more appropriate. The ban is permanent and will not be lifted.

Sincerely,
Ithlien

Nice story bro. Do you really think anyone is going to believe all THIS went through your head when you created that character?
Nice to see the GM's sometimes actually do enforce their ToU considering names on the server. Thanks for that.

You are going to be 24 years old?
You sound like these 16 year old emo or gothic kids crying:"You dont understand me; nobody understands me; dont judge me by how I'm wearing clothes." You use certain names, people will jump to conclusions.
Do you really think, I would be able to name my guild (name would be too long):"Enslave all niggers" and then tell people:"Hey, it's a memorial thing to all poor enslaved black people who suffered." ?
I think not.
"Don't judge a book by it's cover". Sure, I will go to the next West Boro Baptist Church Meeting and assume that maybe they are nice guys even though they wish all NATO soldiers a painful death.
Get off it and start taking responsibility.

* I corrected what I actually received. There was no third time.

Anyway, how can I go about having it lifted cause I still think it's been wrongly banned. What about everyone elses name that're offensive and/or "affect" people like myself and others? What about the names of people I've seen go by with names like: rapetrain, rapetime, rapendate, warriors named niggerslayer, etc. If these obviously much more atrocious names continue to be playable you're basically saying as the leaders of the, Nostalrius Begins, community that you condone rape.

You can't. That is what the word "Permanent" means.
But you are free to create a new account - as long you this time stick to the rules.

I am not looking for responses from non-GM's. Future note to any and every non-GM that makes a reply on this thread: Please kindly remove yourself from my thread. Thanks in advance.

You are posting on a public forum. If you want a GM-only response, you should send a private mail.

Now stop acting as a kid.

Good to see that they took action against your name.

At least the reports where not for nothing.
