cant speak in /1

i cant speak in /1 (havnt tried /2 ) i write /1 and nothing happens and i can also not speak to guards i have restarted the game and my computer

so how do i speak in the lovly barrens chat again?

You must type /leave general and then /join general. . Sometimes this bugs out and you cant type in the channels.

This will also happen if you ALT + F4 out of the game client.
The character that you were logged onto before exiting will have this bug, but since the same effect occurs, you can use Buikaka's solution, or just log out of your character and then log back into it.
