Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Whenever I try to open the game, it instantly tabs me about after a brief moment of black screen, after this it just looks like i have tabbed out of the game, the game is still running. But whenever i try to tab back into the game it just tabs me out and moves around my program icons on my desktop. Im getting fucking sick and tired of this.
I have tried fixing this 5 times now. I have no problem with any other private server like Feenix.
I used the installer provided on the forums.

Sounds like a graphics error. Go into your WTF folder and edit "Config.WTF".
Change the variables to the following before you start the game again:

SET hwDetect "1"
SET gxResolution "800x600"
SET gxWindow "1"


If it still does this, please explain how you don't have this problem on the Feenix servers with the same patch+client.

This is a somewhat common problem. Aside from Aunstic's advice, you should probably search the forum; lots of other players report "black screen" activity when they try to open WoW. Not sure if any of them have a definitive solution though.
