2 questions on policies on harassment and possible exploitin

Hello, I have two questions for the GM-team that i'd like to have answered.

First of all, a brief one: I reported a player who spammed me shitloads of profanity because I ganked his main. The GM who answered my ticket didnt even contact me in game, he just sent me a letter, asking me to use the "ignore function", implying that he/you does not actually punish people telling me that I should fuck and then kill my mother. I am very well aware of that I can ignore people, yet shouldn't they still be punished nevertheless (also, my ignore list is full since way back)?

Secondly I have a question about the alleged exploit in Dire maul, i.e. the "log in-log out trick". i will not elaborate on this in detail since that would possibly constitute me giving away an exploit. I assume all GM:s know how it works. Anyway, a rogue in my guild got banned for doing it and lost, among other things, teebu's and lots of gold. We tried at great length to appeal his ban but to no avail. He was permanently banned for something that many might consider not being expressly exploiting since it does not permit the player to find more than 5 books/h. Anyway, my question is the following: I've heard reports of other players being reported for this 'exploit' yet, even after speaking to a GM, not being banned for it. What I've heard is even that it is ALLOWED. Can we please get a confirmation on whether or not this is in fact prohibited? If it isn't, then I kindly request that Calistro be unbanned.

Thanks in advance,
Bockhorn

You can download Spamthrottle to essentially give you an infinite ignore list. If you provided sufficient proof of the harassment then there's no need for the GM to respond in chat and harassment is a minor infringement so the user won't get banned unless it has occurred before.

As far I can remember, your friend was banned by the high-ups regarding the Dire Maul issue.

It's prohibited. Players reported for exploitation need to be investigated by a GM before action is carried out, and since they opened up recruitment recently it can be inferred that they are low on manpower.

If a player is bugging you, throw on /dnd if your ignore list is full.

Well you know, that tends to piss people off... kind of sounds like you were both being douche bags and the GM didn't feel like playing kindergarten mediator.
