my characters are all gone

I am new to this private server and WoW. But im pretty sure I never deleted my characters...I had a night elf priest level 17 username:whatsthisbs
ive also been experiencing many connection problems. i tried making a new character and that is possible i also had a level one undead that i never played.
theyre all gone is this a temporary thing and can someone like an admin help me out? please tell me my character isnt gone permantely!!!

Make sure you're logging in with the right account. Browse to your World of Warcraft Classic\WTF\Account folder; in there will be sub-folders each named after accounts you've logged in and created characters with. Open each of these folders and open the "Nostalrius Begins" folder under it and it'll show more folders each named after your characters you've played on.
