Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Ok so the Elixir for Pain quest is bugged for me. It's a quest in Hillsbrad foothills in which I have to feed a dog a potion but I never got given the item when i accepted the quest. The item is also called Elixir of Pain. Have tried relogging and abandoning quest but it doesn't help .

I'm a troll hunter if that makes a difference, and ya, not having the potion means i can't finish the quest and thus progress in this area. Hope i get a reply >,<
