I'm honestly unclear on this.

This post above says a couple of different things but none of it is official. Today I pulled the trigger and made a bank alt account because honestly, who wants their bags full of cloth all the time?

So I made a bank alt. My question is simple.

May I be out in the world questing while my bank alt is logged in on another screen doing 100% town trading?

There's a lot of grey areas to multiboxing, but it boils down to this: you shall not receive honor or experience on both accounts at the same time, but professions, banking, etc are all in the clear.

Clarification on multiboxing

Multiboxing refers to playing multiple separate characters simultaneously. This can either be achieved by using multiple separate machines to run the game or by running multiple separate instances of the game. It is against the rules to /follow level characters, run dungeons or raids with multiple characters, PvP with multiple characters, etc. There are only a few situations where multiboxing is allowed in Nostalrius, e.g.:

Trading items between accounts.
Professions, as long as no farming is involved;
i.e. You can have two characters ingame simultaneously for crafting, enchanting, or trading purposes.

It should be safe to assume sitting at an auction house on a character is indeed banking as commonly used in the US which would be withdrawals (gold/items), transactions (gold <> items, items <> items), and deposits (gold/items).

Awesome, thanks Aunstic. Well thought out post, explains the meaning behind some of the terms are.

That being said, I think in good faith that I'm only earning experience on one account, it's okay to have both up.

Having your character use the Auction House while playing on another character is considered multiboxing and will result in either a “Last Warning” or a permanent ban if you had been previously warned about multiboxing. We would highly recommend you do not do this and instead just log in to one character at a time.

If you do need to log into a bank toon, please follow the guidelines listed in our Terms of Use.

i have to say i also thought browsing the AH is "trading purpose".
and i guess a lot of ppl have a 2nd char online to check or scan the AH

all this is really complicated, you should simply have not allowed ppl to have 2 accounts.

I'd like some clarification on this as well. This isn't to start a riot thread with a bunch of retards throwing insults though. I'd like to know how this is an offense when Viper's clarification on multiboxing thread explains the most definitive problems of multiboxing.
