Is this legal?

Hello! So, no, I don't have my account banned or anything. The other way round, I'm preventing that from happening.
I want to know if killing mobs unattended is illegal. I read the rules and it doesn't say anything about it. The closest would be "Extensive killing of important quest NPCs", but that's not quite what I mean. It's not the idea killing a quest boss or whatever, but any mob.

I want to make sure before anything.

Apologies, but I don't think I understood you correctly. If you're inquiring about whether or not you may use 3rd party programs to have your character kill mobs whilst you aren't actively playing, or even at the computer, this would be considered using a bot, and is strictly forbidden in the server's rules.

If you're still in doubt, feel free to elaborate on the topic, and I'll try to give you an answer!

What do you mean by "unattended?" Do you mean leave WoW open on your computer and let your character kill mobs while you're away from your computer or tabbed out into another program (E.g.: Watching Netflix or YouTube)? If so, like Shadowx93ca pointed out, that's considered a form of botting that can lead to a permanent ban.

Well, yes, what I meant didn't imply 3rd party programs...
As you may or may not know, warlocks' and hunters' pets can attack stuff without you having to do anything. Is it illegal to let them do that?
What if I'm in front of the pc watching it do it, ready to answer?

I'm just sitting here imagining someone's pet on aggressive whilst they afk for 30+ mins in the hope it will kill mobs that respawn around the AFK player.

Could be interesting to see how much xp the pet could rack up. ^^
