jittery movement problems

by Doublefris » Thu Aug 27, 2015 2:56 pm

Hello everyone!

This is my first post, so first of all, I want to say hello and thanks to the developers for creating this wonderful server. However, I want to report an issue that is important to me and from which seemingly 90% of vanilla servers that I've played on suffer from. That is the jittery movement. I hope that everyone knows what I am talking about, but to describe it more accurately it is the discontionous/ stuttery/ jittery motions that is visible on other players. I have seen only one server so far which solved this adequately, but it is now dead.

It turns out that this bug is caused by wrong timestamps in the movement packets and I don't beleive it is that difficult to fix. Google revealed the following reddit thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/rebirthwow/comments/2bic31/perfect_movement_mangos_112/.
In particular, please consider the post made by Evairfairy, which contains a possible fix.

I would appreciate it very much if one of the developers could try their hand at this issue, as this problem is really a deal breaker for me and I think it improves the experience so much to have proper movement.

Thank you!

So it has been over two weeks since I made the bug report, and it's status is still 'new'. It would be nice if it would at least be acknowledged this problem exists.
