Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

The equipment on my characters wont suffer durability loss, only when I die (the usual 10% loss). Any idea what causes this?

Well you rarely ever even get durability damage in other way than dying. I heard something about if you parry 200 attacks your weapon loses 1 durability etc.
