QUESTION about how to play by the terms of use.

Hi,

Not sure if this is necessary to ask, but I'm reading so much about people who got banned that I'm a bit scared.
I'm not a cry baby, but it would be sad if played so much for nothing, so I just want to know this before things happen.
And I already read the terms of use, but it was not clear to me, so again, this is just to be sure.

By accident of my stupidity to understand how to make the game/account work I made 3 accounts on the website. This was not my intension in first place.
With my first character I still play, it's a lvl 41 warrior Night elf. And I' almost able to buy my mount.

My professions are skinning and leather working, I'm happy with them. But I was thinking it would be nice if I could enchant/open my own gear/lockboxes. So I made a other character on the same account and I tested if I could enchant my own weapons while being logged in at the same account on 2 computers. Well, I saw that it's not possible to play on 2 different character on the same account on the same time. If you don't try, you will never know huh. :geek:

Then I thought, but I can use my other account to do that, well it works. Ofcourse, that's nice, however people think it's handy or not.

Wait, I'm not finished yet...
My friend came over, and she was really enthusiastic about starting to play. In a moment of thinking being smart, I said; you can have my other account which I don't use. And so it happened, she took my other account, changed the password and all. But, all those account are made on one IP adres, while she is playing on a other IP adres.

You will think now, "what are your concerns then??"

Well, I send her some gold to start with (yes I'm a nice friend).
And often I send items to help my other characters from my main account to my second account & vice versa.
Can I get banned, by sending items/gold between accounts while I'm also send items to my friend?
(I always play on the same IP)

I was gonna reply, but I just couldn't stand reading your post with that fucking avatar. It's god awful, and could possibly cause seizures in epileptics.

You really should read the ToU and think about what the rules mean. There's almost no gray area around the rules.

Yes, I read it, most things I understand. But I'm not sure, that's why I try to explain and ask for a clear answer about what I do.
That's all.

I don't wanna do something what is not allowed and later whine about a bann.

Then you shouldn't have any trouble answering the question...

...maybe you should read the post, specificlly the part where it says "I read the ToU and have a question..."

Thanks for playing though.
_______

I think the TL;DR summary of the question is this: What is the ToU stance on creating an account on behalf of another? Like... If I set up an account for my wife, but she is the only one who ever plays it?

There is some gray area in the question... you have used two of the three accounts you made... to test the stuff listed, but the 3rd account... if you never even logged into it, but then let a friend use it... I think it is a good question.

However, if you let her use one that you had logged into and used to test things out and you had characters created, her account might get banned if it is discovered.

Sending items and gold to friends, regardless of IP is not an issue unless the gold is bought or something like that.

Account trading is not allowed on Nostalrius - regardless whether paid for, as a gift or anything else.

She made her character on my computer, when I first introduced her to the game. She really liked it and played also a lot, like 3 days when she was here.
But after she only played at her home. But it would be the same, if she made a account on my computer and then played at me and at home.
She plays at home and also at the same times when I'm online.
And your example, if you made account in your home for your wife and she plays in the same home, there is not a problem, I guess?

Thanks for answering, but now I'm just scared that I get banned?

On the third account I only logged into, but I never made a character, but the point is, she was at my home when she made her characters. :/ Even tho I didn't play with them. I feel really stupid now, didn't expect this would be such a thing.

And I understand it's really not good to buy gold/sell account. It's a game and not a way to make money in real life. I think the ToU are decent way to prevent scam and such things you don't want to have in a game community.
