(BUG) The Admiral's Orders

Hi!

I tried searching, but couldn't seem to find anyone having brought this up already.
In Durotar, when you kill Admiral Benedict, he drops a key, which enables you to loot his chest, further up the castle. I seem to be getting two issues with this key.

First of all, and the minor one, is that the chest (maybe all chests, haven't checked) does not perform an animation when opened. This should be a simple fix.

The second issue is, that when attempting to loot the chest, by the end you get interupted. When you get interupted, you lose the key, as if you had succesfully looted the chest (which contains a quest). I heard that this was due to another played opening the chest at the same time, so i did some research, by killing Benedict again and aquiring a new key. I did three tests:

1. With no players around, i looted. Got interupted, no loot, lost key.
2. With another player looting at the same time. Interupted, no loot, lost key.
3. With another player previously looting the chest and moving on. Interupted, no loot, no key.

I hope there is a simple way to fix this, as the quest is a great part of the storyline of vanilla!

Are you using autoloot Shift+click?. It spawns a mob that attacks you when you loot the chest and might interrupt your looting.
So you need to grab it quickly
(i am just speculating)

I am doing that, yes. It interupts just as the unlocking hits 100%, but before the loot panel opens up. Mob doesn't spawn at that point, but rather randomly.

Did this yesterday while in a full party. I opened it first and we were all successful, one after the other. Each time a party member opened the chest a soldier would spawn at the other end of the walkway and go after the player who opened it. Also I think I do recall the chest opening up for me, but I don't know if it will open up every time if there's a sequential amount of players opening it with no pauses in between, the animation can't keep up with the action.

I can't say for certain why the test results are showing up like that for you, but when you open the chest you should have more than enough time to loot the item before they even get to you.

But there is nothing "getting to me". When the unlock cast-bar reached max, it goes straight to "interupted", with no loot table at all.

I also lost the loot on my first attempt (I shift-looted the chest).
On my second try I didn't shift-loot and it worked.

confirming it is bugged after doing it in a group of 4 today, we all waited for the other to fully try to loot, and no one got it!

Have you tried delete your WDB folder and try?
