So last night when i was trying out my new macro and addon that i made i got this message on my nostalrius account You are banned until September 23rd 2015 05:46:57 AM for the following reason: "BOT". I was on my character kurzol and trying out a macro that i made using wow api and fixing an addon i was making. I assume it thought it was a bot due to the refreshing on the auction house without stopping however it was my macro doing it so i have no idea why i am banned.
Thanks Kurzol

Macro refreshing the auction house by itself = automated action = bot. Feel free to make a new account and respect the terms of use.

If it wasn't stopping, clearly you didn't need to click it.

You just said you were fixing an addon. Now you were watching a movie? Would you like to make up your mind?

yes but i am not sure why i was banned so if it was the addon that caused it to happen i don't know so if that didn't me constantly clicking could have been the only other reason why it was banned

Vorfidus you are being incredibly snide. Using the WoW API which is how Blizzard intended is not "Botting" botting is using 3rd party software to automate the actions of a user.

The user above simply wrote an addon in the Vanilla WoW API and made a mistake having the code loop and send too many requests to the server, this is a design fault not a BOT.

If the above is true, a temp ban would suffice to stop flooding the server, but a perm ban for a mistake is tad over the top.

He was making an addon to refresh the auction house. Yeah, that definitely can't be abused...
