I noticed that this player mode AFC buy things from the common auction

You can mark yourself as AFK and not really be afk at times.

Also he could have bought them and then gone afk.

Except that neutral AH bots have been on 24/7 these because they've seen the sloooooooooooooooooow ban response time to it(and other scams/exploits ect with low level throw away accounts, it's gonna get worse too), so it's more likely that it is an AH bot.

Don't bother transferring anything below cost on the neutral AH until something changes. You can say put them at the proper price, I can say do something about the automated AHers.

I am not denying this but you cannot just call someone out becasue they bouhgt ONE item you put up.

For all I know he is a bot but you cant just go around calling people botters with no evidence.

I agree that prove difficult, surprised that he instantly buying as soon as the thing is put up for auction as soon as it is bought this person, would not be bad little control such situations.

You can set your auction addons to buy stuff. You do not need to bot to do that. Just as you dont need a bot to auto-sell grays or auto-repair.

I am skeptical that api allows someone to autorefresh autobuy all day though, though im sure the bypass to ah refresh probably is.

I will say that technicalities based on grey areas have never saved anyone from a ban on this server. It just takes too long for them to do it.

My unitframes also refresh automatically. In fact, most addons do stuff automatically. Refreshing the AH really isn't any different. When I mount I automatically equip my Mount set, should I be banned for using ItemRack to automate that?

You might wanna argue that buying stuff on the AH should be a protected function. But it isn't. That would make some functions of for example Aux not work. Should players using Aux be afraid of permabans? Whenever you press the buy button you are starting a "bot" that runs for a few seconds. The only real difference between that and these players on the neutral AH is duration of time they scan it and the logic for buying.

ItemRack isn't a method of afk farming. As far as I can tell Aux doesn't allow players to afk farm as well, so how is that relevant?

What happened to automation is automation? Seems to me that you are going back on that claim and that is a good thing. Because if someone attacks my char while Im afk they can certainly cause me to switch gear even though I'm afk.

As I predicted what you have a problem with is that the buy auction function isn't protected.

Blizzard eventually blocked this functionality, and I wouldn't have a problem with nost taking measures to prevent it or state that they consider addons that specifically buy or post auctions while afk a breach of the ToS and tell players to stop doing it.

I would have a big problem with them banning them without warning (unless they use a real bot in order to not be logged out.) The reason I would have a problem with that is that all these players are doing is basically combining what I'm doing with ItemRack and what I'm doing with Aux into one addon. If that is bannable then all of a sudden Im in a very grey area.

I personally would recommend anyone doing this on this server because the GMs play rather fast and lose with permanent bans but that's another topic.
