Char name question

Hi. I used a char name on a Blizzard server and wanted to use the same name on Nostalrius, but can't as someone has taken it already. That person never plays and just wondered if it is possible to have it for my own char? is that possible?

It is not possible.
Offering in-game gold/IRL money for character names is also now bannable.

What is with the paid service suggestions, seems like there's more than ever.

I'm guessing the PvE advertising probably brought a bunch of new people to the forums.
Most of the OPs are normally very new accounts with no previous posts.

How exactly would this even work? You want a name someone else already has, so the staff just ninjas that name away from them?

This was many years ago so my memory might be a little off, but I do recall a certain point in Retail where GM's would potentially free up a name if it was inactive for a certain period of time.

not true tho, the pve announcement didnt bring more ppl into forum
if u are quite a few time in here u will most often see veteran faces of forum u will also start seeing them everywhere
