Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hey guys, a buddy of mine is trying to download the client to play on this server. However, no matter where he downloads it from, it will not let him change his realm list, nor even open it. It keeps popping up saying he needs to associate it with something in the control panel, but it doesn't pop up when he goes to look for it.

Does any one have anything helpful that we could try?

PS: We did try copying it to the desktop, but even then it will not open.

well the realmlist.wtf is standard an non-editable document,
it needs to be " told" it is editable with Notepad.

this can be done in 2 ways.
open notepad go to File > Open > go to realmlist.wtf
or right click on realmlist.wtf > select open with > select notepad from the list of programs.
