hey!

i have a couple questions about the TOU.

so first of you are not allowed to multibox or use programs to play for you or stuff like that.
i have 2 accounts because of reasons (habit from retrail)

am i alloved to use the mage i have on one account to make portals to other accounts?
can i get banned for sending gold between them? so far its no big numbers, but want to make shure
and most importantly iam using TradeDispenser addon. (it does not craft anything for me) i basically trades water/food to people in org. is this allowed while i play on another character? if it tok payd for it or if i do it for free?

thanks for the help sorry for asking this, but i want to make shure iam within the TOU before i continue doing this. we had a small discussion in the guild so i tough why not make a thread about it and get it sorted out

sorry for making such a long post about it.

It has been posted before that you can enchant stuff with an alt while dual boxing. Portaling would fall under a similar vein.

Trading/Dispensing water: If you have to do it manually by alt tabbing, this would be similar to enchanting. If you have an addon that automatically does it that would PROBABLY be against the TOU, but no one much would mind, but if you charged for it, that would DEFINITELY be against the TOU.

Sending large amounts of gold to an alt would depend on how they track gold transfers that they use to target gold spammers and sellers. They are obviously not detailing how that works so the spammers/sellers cannot circumvent their filters, but if you get in trouble for it then you can argue that the money being transferred is coming from the same IP. This is something I am curious as well, as especially once AQ40 comes out the server economy heats up a lot and there are fortunes to be made if you have the right alts with the right professions, but that requires large amounts of capital and bag space and it would be unfortunate to get banned for just making gold for personal use.

Portals for alts: This one not explicitly in the ToU, but it does follow the same kind of idea as enchanting. This is probably OK. I wouldn't worry about it unless a GM says it's not OK. No one has ever been banned for that (at least going by the Account Issues forums, which I've watched since launch.)

Sending large amounts of gold between accounts: This is allowed. Theoretically to any amount, although people have been banned (and then unbanned) in some cases from false positives. I personally have traded up to 800g between my main & mage alt account, never had an issue. If you do get a ban on this, then just appeal.

TradeDispenser: Allowed. Viper has noted that using tradeDispenser won't get you banned. However botting (to avoid afk) will. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23552&hilit=tradeDispenser#p162525
Any bot that would automatically make you jump or actually craft water & food would be a reason for a ban. TradeDispenser does not do either of these. It does automatically accept trades and put stuff in the trade box of course, and also automatically can periodically advertise.

Caveat: It is difficult for GMs to tell the difference between an automation tool, and a player hiding most of their UI, watching netflix in another window, and occasionally just jumping & making water for their trade toon. I suspect people have been banned unfairly this way, but there's no way to prove it either way. People who were banned who actually USED bots would of course use this kind of excuse in an appeal. Be aware that ANYTHING that causes your computer to take an action that you didn't personally direct is considered botting (like sticking a penny to keep the space bar pressed.)

TradeDispenser Multi-boxing: Almost certainly NOT allowed. You are not allowed to have an toon parked at the auction house (e.g. scanning auctions) while playing on another one. This would be similar; interacting with the world on two toons at the same time, possibly making money in the process. Even if you don't make any money by doing it, i'd stay away from doing that.
