Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I accepted the quest "Caught!" from the guy stuck in the porta-potty in Searing Gorge. I already had silk in my inventory when I accepted it. A few hours later I got around to killing the 8 geologists and when I went back to him to turn it in, it said (Completed!) in my quest log, but the "Continue" button was greyed out when I talked to him.

I broke the stack of 20 down to a stack of 15, but that didn't work.

I relogged, but that didn't work.

I don't want to drop the quest because then I'll have to kill 8 more geologists.

If I have silk in my bank, could that be screwing this up?

Where you still mounted? Dismount.

I wasn't mounted. I just checked my bank and there was no silk cloth in it, I'm gonna go back to him and try and turn it in again.

You may have got the quest into a bugged state somehow. You might try exiting the game, and deleting the WDB folder, then starting the game up again. The WDB folder contains a cache that can sometimes get corrupted and cause quests to fail. Removing it will not undo any progress or cause any issues, the game will dynamically recreate it.

Well I ended up dropping the quest and picking it back up. Killed the 8 geologists again, and this time I was able to turn in the quest.

I accepted the next quest, collected the various items needed for it, went to Gadgetzan to turn it in... and the exact same thing is happening. The Continue button is greyed out, even though I clearly have all the items for the quest. I could drop it and pick it up again like last time, but this would require me going all the way back to Searing Gorge...
