Combat log never stays on screen

I set up a fancy combat log with pretty colors.
The problem? It's randomly not there, and eventually recombines with the main chat window.
Not sure if this was always a bug in vanilla or wow in general.

make sure you disable 'auto-join guild recruitment channel' from interface options.
That was deleting my chat windows for a while.

can you share your combat log? I am looking for something nice and different with custom colors

Same for me, I unchecked this feature and my combat log never disappeared again
