Surprisingly low performance

Hey guys. First of all, thanks for coming up with such a well-made version of vanilla warcraft, you rock.
Now, on to my problem. I play the game on my laptop, an Asus R510JK (GTX 850, 8 gb ram, i5 4200h, Windows 10, 7200 RPM hdd etc) and I'm getting surprisingly low fps. If I go to a capital, it won't go above 30-32 depending on the amount of players in sight. Even out questing, it oscillates between 40-60 when more things are happening at once. I did the "improved visual quality" settings in the beginner's guide, but now I removed'em and nothing changed. I can play GTA V just fine, how come a game from 2006 is being a pest?
