Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Every 2-10 minutes, I disconnect. Either it instantly disconnects and returns me to the log-in screen or the connection hangs indefinitely (things stop loading, players continue running in same direction or don't move, etc.) and I have to close the game and re-open it myself or it eventually disconnects. I just reinstalled Windows to make sure that it wasn't malware, and it's still happening. My internet connection is very strong and works fine for any other game.

Please help!!

Ok, so I've had the same problem back on retail. It's not your computer, that is for sure. It is most probably corrupted file in WoW folder or internet connection. I'd try by deleting WDB and WTF folders. If that doesn't work, let me know - maybe I can dig some official WoW Vanilla support guides

EDIT: If disconnects continue, try clicking Windows key + R and then typing CMD - it should open window in which you type ping google.com -t (it basically pings google website every second, it shows your packet loss and ping). If you're frequently losing packets, it is most certainly your internet connection or ISP problem.

I have been having the exact same issue on a laptop using WIFI with Win7 32-bit. Constant disconnects every few minutes.

On my regular desktop machine running Win7 64-bit that is hardwired, everything is fine, just the normal server crashes.

I have used this laptop to play retail without issue. I've also played several other MMOs (Rift, LoTR, Tera) also without issue. I've checked my connection and the ping is fine.

Again, this only happens on WIFI so I assumed it was a connection issue on my end but I don't see how only Nostalrius would be effected. I'll try deleting the WTF and WDB folders and see what happens.

I think the issue was my router, which I have my desktop hard-wired through. I wired my desktop straight into the wall for direct internet without going through a switch, and it works beautifully!

bionictruck - I'd guess that you have the same issue that I had on your laptop. It seems as if you are connected through wifi or a switch, you might have connection issues.
