Dwarf Hunter Taming Quest

So when taming the beast as a dwarf, the third animal you have to train is an ice claw bear. With the boar and the leopard I had no issues, but whenever I try to tame an ice claw bear, it gives me an 'invalid target'. I had already dismissed the snow leopard before trying to tame the bear. I've tried relogging, abandoning the Q, tried 6 different ice claw bears and also the young black bears, nothing seems to work. I already put a point in beastmastery, so lvling without a pet is a no go now...
Anyone else has this problem?
