Hunter beginning quest bugged

Level 10 hunter in Dolanaar, trying to get my first pet. On quest "Taming the Beast", part 2. I have dismissed my spider pet (from part 1 of quest) and when I use the taming rod on a nightsaber stalker, after channeling it says I already have a charmed pet. I have logged off and back on and have the same issue.

Greetings,
Please abandon the quest and then type this into your chat: /script PetAbandon()
Once that is done exit your client and delete your WDB folder, when you are back in the game re-take the quest and then you are good to go!
Repeat if need be for the next part of the quest.
