Problem Logging In/Using mouse

Hey there guys. So I've been playing on Nostalrius on and off over the last couple of months due to being in University. Anyway, after my last hiatus from the game, I tried a couple of days ago to log on and I kept getting "Unable to connect" whenever I tried to log in. This was with multiple computers over multiple internet connections. I also checked the realm list and everything seemed to be in order. I reinstalled and also no dice.

Problem 2: Aside from my desktop, I also play this game on a Surface Pro 3 whenever I'm away from school on break, for the weekend, etc. Before this month long break I never had a problem actually playing the game, but now whenever I launch the game I cannot move the game's cursor even though I have a mouse plugged in. If I alt tab the cursor goes back to functioning normally, so it appears to be an issue with the game itself.

Any help for either of these two issues would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Greetings,

please make sure that you don't have any 3rd party software that could interfere with your connection. For example, a firewall update might be blocking wow.exe from accessing the Internet. You should also check the sticky threads for further hints.

As for the mouse, the most common issues are special mouse cursors available for Windows that vanilla wow does not recognize or a hardware acceleration issue. For the former, make sure in Control Panel that the mouse has default appearance. For the latter, experiment with turning hw acc on or off.

I ran into the mouse cursor problem aswell. Like Potu said its either a changed cursor or hardware acceleration. Or it could be the size of your cursor/fonts. Go to your windows settings or operating system settings, and find out how to change your font and icon size. Change them to small, that should fix it. Let me know if it does

Hey guys, thanks for the help! I was able to fix the mouse issue by changing the font. I also ran the client as an administrator, but now instead of getting an error saying "Unable to Connect", I now get an error saying my account has been closed. As I said before, I haven't been able to play in over a month because of school and other IRL reasons. Is there a possibility that this error was caused by my account being compromised and subsequently banned, or is it something else? Thanks again!
