However, reports containing potentially harmful bugs, which shouldn't be shown to the public, i.e, bugs that could be exploited, is considered sensitive and should be sent directly to Tyrael on the Forum. Reports submitted in this fashion will rarely receive a response as they'll be discretely forwarded to the teams responsible for verifying and addressing them.
For normal reports, players has to use the Bugtracker as it'll assist the IsVV team in the verification process and the developers in addressing them accordingly. It'll also help clean up a lot of the tickets and support requests the GM team receives on a daily basis.
Procedure and guidelines.
In order to create new artefacts, you'll need to register here. Once your account has been registered/validated by an Administrator, please login, and access the Nostalrius Bugtracker. Keep in mind that using https:// may result in an error.
Create an Artefact:
- Click Submit new artifact in the top left corner. Artefacts needs to be written in English and should contain as much useful information possible along with links to all the sources.
- Battleground: Problem linked to Battlegrounds (ex: Alterac Valley),
- Class: Problem linked to class mechanics (ex: Rogue),
- Event: Problem linked to an event event (ex: Valentine's day),
- Instance/Raid: Problem linked to an instance (ex: Gnomeregan),
- Creature/NPC: Problem linked to a creature outside of an instance (ex: Bhag'thera in Stranglethorn Vale),
- Object/Item: Problem linked to an object outside of an instance or an item (ex: Felcoth),
- Quest: Problem linked to a quest outside of an instance or a battleground (ex: The Brassbolts Brothers),
- Worldboss: Problem linked to a worldboss (ex: Lethon),
Create a proper Summary:
- [XXXX] YYYYY
Example: [12420] Untargettable Blackwing Mage
Where [XXXX] is the ID of an object, item, creature, class name or instance/raid name
and YYYYY is the description of the bug found. For IDs, check WoWhead.
Choose the correct Category:
Informative Description:
Provide as much information possible to speed up the process along with all the sources to back any claims. Preferable a step-by-step way to reproduce the issue. Don't forget to add your server, character name and/or Forum username in the description as it could be useful for the IsVV / Developer team in the event they require further information.
Duplicates.
Before submitting a new artefact, please verify that it haven't already been submitted by another player as duplicates severely slow down the cycle management process.
Workarounds.
Don't forget you may find helpful instructions from other players about the issue, along with potential solutions/workarounds for it.
