Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

My old account which has my first character ever made and played, a 60 mage, was hacked a while back and now despite there being a way to recover a password, I have encountered trouble in retrieving my account.

The email I originally used to create the account appears to have been deactivated by hotmail (outlook), so I am unable to login and reset the password using this feature. When making the account I had no idea that this email was no longer usable so am stuck, not being able to recover.

Gamemasters don't recover hacked accounts or lost characters/items, there is nothing else you can do except starting again with a new account.

You don't have to start all over again with a new account. You could also just not play here anymore.

Account security is your responsibility. Failing to do so leaves GM's with no option than to perma-ban the account. For all they know you could have sold it, and now claiming it back.

If you decide to create a new account, please try to maintain a minimum of security this time. Don't use your character name or forum name as account name, and invent a hard password - 10+ characters long including letters and numbers.

It's not a system. It's their (non) procedural stance. There didn't used to be a password recovery system, but they eventually made that happen. Who knows what the future may bring.

Without access to original email account, some other system would have had to been set up in advance for retrieval of accounts, wouldn't it? It seems like your best bet would be finding a way to get the original email account activated again...which I assume you already thought of. Sorry bud.
