Gnomish cloaking device

I am looking to speak to a GM as soon as possible.

The engineering trinket [Gnomish Cloaking Device] is making the player enter stealth when it is activated whether or not the user is in combat or not. This is WORKING AS INTENDED, but, during a boss encounter it effectively wipes the users threat, using the same mechanic as Vanish that a rogue has. This is all working as blizzlike, but i would like a confirmation from GM before i go and use this in a raid and threaten being banned.

Here is a link to a video of a popular pvp'er using it back in vanilla. He uses it in combat several times but one specific instance starts at 11:40 mark against a warrior.

Note: i am NOT trying to change anything about this item, it is working completely blizzlike (should have mechanics of rogue Vanish). I am only making sure that this is not something that i would be questioned about if used in PvE.

This item isn't working correctly. The full deaggro from combat was added in a much later patch (3.0.8) and shouldn't remove a player from combat in vanilla. You'll notice in that video you linked that at 11:50 he has enabled the cloaking device but remains in combat so while he may be invisible for that time, he still retains combat. For bosses, because of the pulsing combat, using the invisibility would only be a temporary threat reduction, much like Blessing of Protection is, whereas once the buff wears off, the original threat the player had would retain.

Using it to wipe your threat completely will be considered a bug abuse until further notice.

+1 for proper way to ask about whether an item/spell/ability is bug abuse or not :)

Not everyone would think it's a bug and not everyone is an expert on reverse engineering and down patching.
I guess the typicall WoW player will just use it without even knowing it is an exploit.
But it's Bantalrius so keep up the banwaves, always nice drama thx.
