account closure for botting apparently..

Today I got back from work with a friend, turned on my pc and went to the store nearby to buy a few drinks. My friend who's completely new to this game wanted to play instead of coming with me. Why not?
Literally 10mins later I came back and found out my account got closed? My friend said he was moved to a different location and later logged off.
Now I got no idea why, so I logged into my alt account and spoke with a GM. Apparently I've been botting? Amazing news.
Now what I don't get is, why wasn't there a warning?
According to your ingame rules (here) we will receive a warning somehow before getting banned? I asked the GM about this, he said the forum had to be updated?
If I got a warning I could've told you about this case, but now I can't play for probably atleast one day which I already don't have very often.
So here I am, back from work, thinking I'll spend some of my time playing WoW again.
But nope, I get banned for something I haven't done, not to mention the rules being ignored by GM's?
I hope something can be done about this asap.
