Problem with resolution

Hey there
I would like to know if it is possible to change your screen resolution outside of the game?
Everytime I open WoW the screen resolution fucks up and before I can make it into the game and change it, my computer restarts...
I'm currently using windows 8 and it says Video_TDR_failure :/

Find where your Vanilla WoW Client is installed, mine is D:\Program Files'World of Warcraft 1.12, open your WTF folder, and right click the Config.wtf and click edit in notepad or something similar.

Once you have done that look for the line that says "SET gxResolution xxx"

The 'xxx' will be what ever your resolution for an example mine is 'SET gxResolution "1920x1080" '

You can also set it to windowed mode if you have to by changing the gxWindow to 1 and gxMaximize to 1.
