Meet at the grave quest bugged

The questline for the linken sword quest that has you kill yourself at the Tanaris Graveyard is bugged.
after using the elixir, you walk to the quest giver Gaeriyan north of the graveyard. I can talk to him and I see a question mark as well, but I cannot continue to complete the quest. It just wont work and I already abandoned the quest and tried again. it still wont let you complete it.
