My /who isn't populating unless the people have the class in their name or guild. I have tried to do a full reinstall but it didn't fix the issue. I also have an issue with auction house not searching correctly as well.

AH searches do not work the same way they did in retail; you might be dealing with some of those issues. As far as I remember, /who searched do though. Give a couple examples of the types of queries you are looking for in AH and /who. Also try doing whatever you're doing with all AddOns off.

as far as /who if i do something like /who warrior 30-40 it would pull up two people one with warrior in their name and another with warrior in their guild not including the warrior that was on my friends list in those fields. as an aside how would i search for shadow wrath gear? *i tried fresh install and no mods as well before i posted.

it's better to use searches like this
/who z-"Ironforge" c-"Warrior" 60
This would show you all lvl 60 warriors in Ironforge

Yeah. Those types of serches do not work in AH. No such designation searches work. You have to search around manually in each subcategory for these designations. It's worse than that though. For example if you are looking for cloth chest pieces no "robes" apper in chest cloth at all. you'd have to do a separate search for "robe" not in it's subcategory of chest to find them. Ask around for a good AddOn.
As Tom said though, /who searches do work. When you are looking for class specific searches, designate class with "c". Not /who warrior 30-50, but /who (enter) and use the search field at the bottom of the who page to enter: c-warrior 30-50. by default /who looks for the simplest matches first if it isn't directed to look in a subcategory. For guild use g-illuminati. zone is z.

Yes I have tried using the /who gui to do the searching but it still doesn't work.
