The growing chinese population on PVP

by finasterra » Sun Jan 10, 2016 4:46 pm

i'm on horde side... and i know i've seen a lot of the chinese people communicating with each other via blank message lines. and i've seen my fair share of "xiaowhatever" character names.

heres the thing. theiy're playing with a chinese language pack add-on or client addition. so to them, it's not a blank chat box... it's just our english clients can't generate the text they are using.

Xiao in manadarin means "little" so it's just people who want to use "little" in their character names.

and i've randomly run into a lot of chinese players who can speak pinyin.. (roman letter chinese)

i know the official language of the server is english... but i speak more than just english, i can also understand and reply at least marginially in pinyin.. and the majority of these people are just regular players,. trying to iron out a spot for themselves...

get off their back people.

English is the official language and it is required to speak so in public channels. (General, trade, Battlegrounds)
Same rules for russians, spannish and french players etc.
Whatever is used in Private channels / Guildchat whatever is up to the players.

This is for required by everyone to respect as it is a multinational community.

Many chinese players are however not able to speak english therefore speaks chinese in public channels, rest of the community becomes mad and the whole chinese community gets punished.

Remember from whatever nation you are, you are always an ambassadeur for your country and people will create impressions and opinion about your nationality as a whole. This goes for real life and in games.

Respect other players by following the rules set by Nostalrius, it is for everyone to have the most pleasant experience at Nostalrius.
Your pleasure is my work.. Or is my work also a pleasure? ^__^

i dont ever see people speaking pinyin or blank messages in public channels ( /say and /party are not considered public)

so im not sure that they are breaking the rule.

however i've grouped with some, and ran into them randomly in open world... i can communicate with them, and most are just your everyday average guy, trying to play and enjoy the game.

not sure why everyone hates them so much. they really are decent enough people.
