Question about the vulgarity of my name.

I've made a second char (druid) on my account called holocaust using special characters. I'm referring to the actual English definition of "holocaust" which means "destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war." But of course there is a stigma surrounding this name just because we as a collective of humans have correlated it to the definition "the holocaust". I don't think I need to explain what that means..

Anyway.. I'm asking if I will be able to keep this name and if it's worth leveling this char in the long run or will I be subject to harassment from those who shut down characters or worse yet accounts due to vulgar names?

Thank you.

I think you're fine. It's not like your name is "Lolholocaust" or something offensive.

Don't know if GMs will actually respond to this, but I'd feel confident that it's not vulgar by definition at all. That being said, in my top ten list of things not to do, is to create a character name that other's might dislike and you might regret, but level it anyway despite reservations.

Unfortunately for you, I'm fairly confident that you'd face a namechange if reported. Reason being that they'd rather not get into the discussion of your intent but focus on how it is percieved.

Almost any name could be defended otherwise.

Ihatefags = I dislike tobacco.

A friend of mine had a situation (on retail but the policy seems remarkably similar) where he named his mage Arkan.Basically the word arcane 'swedifyed', unfortunately it turned out that a person accused of warcrimes in former yugoslavia was called that and he was forced to change.

As someone that rarely swears, what a load of faggotry.
