Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Greetings.

So our guild <Last Resort> was doing our weekly Blackwing Lair run. After defeating Firemaw we continued on our way to the trash. This is were a problem occured. Approximately around 20:55 server time.

One of our mages, Dojca [who received a Staff of the Shadow Flame last raid] applied a Brilliant Wizard Oil before we pull a trash pack. He died due to the goblins. So after the trash we ress & buff up. Dojca noticed that the Brilliant Wizard Oil has disappeared, which shouldn't be the case, because it persists through death.

He shrugged it off as a bug and he wanted to apply a new Brilliant Wizard Oil to his staff. Just to notice that his staff is gone. Upon inspecting his bags, he noticed that he got a nexus crystal. But he never dissenchanted the staff obviously and never got a loot window showing the nexus crystal as loot.

This is absolutely devastating ofcourse, because it's a Best in Slot item. Our guild has only received 2 staffs since the beginning of november.

I'd like this issue being investigated & potentially have the item restored. The mage in question is one of our better dps & this is a setback for our guild's dps.

Cant even understand why there is GM's if they don't do anything. This should be a issue you can solve in 5 minutes. And i have to say this is not the first issue with Enchanting or Disenchanting bringing out problems with raid loot / items. If its due server lag / bug i think they should restore the items. It's not the same issue with Onyxia not giving loot, Broodlord not giving loot etc. Its the thing ppl got Item and because enchanting as a profession is bugged as hell it seems to cost ppl some serious damage in this server. Rip that mage since we all know how badly Nostalrius treats it's customers ( before someone says you have to pay before being real customer, Yes i know its free server - go play somewhere else..

Can a real GM help us out? We really want our dps back!
I understand that restoring items is asked allot for, but I believe that its fair to make an exception in some cases like this one (unknown bug). This best in slot item is not easy to replace.
I appreciate the volunteers that sacrifice their spare time to help this server maintain and hope there is one to help our lovely raiding guild out!

Is said mage an enchanter? Have you considered that this could have been caused by a buggy interface addon?

Seems more likely than any other explanation.

As others in this thread have already pointed out, I too think that an exception in this special case should be considered - or at least that the incident should be investigated.

The player (Dojca) clearly had nothing to gain from disenchanting a BiS weapon, and seeing as a disconnect was involved it is plausible ot think that a bug could be involved.

He indeed is an enchanter. And no, he's using some standard up to date addons, so a buggy interface addon is highly unlikely.

The staff as you could read in the OP, disappeared while he was dead. So unless you can actually dissenchant whilst dead, that explanation is out of the question.

Also on a side note to those who are skeptical about this. Prior to this, Enchanting has caused quite a few loot bugs, to many guilds. For example, something that also happened to us on our first Chromaggus kill. We kill the boss and immediately a rogue gets a Claw of Chromaggus. This happened in a fraction of a second and with Masterloot on.

We later learned that dissenchanting items during a raid can cause all sorts of funky wonky bugs.

Many people, like myself only enable "damage done to yourself" in the combat log. So I highly doubt posting a combat log would be helpful. Even so if a GM were to investigate this issue, they have their own logs.
