Why am I always stuck on retrieving character list?

Greetings!

I have been playing on the server since release. However, the last few months or more have been getting harder and harder to log on. I get off work at around 5:00am server time. I try to log on. I wait in retrieving character list for an average wait time of 20 to 30 minutes. After I finally see my characters, I select one and try to enter the world. But, again. It sits with a full loaded bar in the loading screen for another 20 to 30 minutes on average. This always occurs every night at around 5:00 am to 7:00 am server time.

I would like an explanation for this for I have searched and searched the forums and I see you guys have never addressed this issue. I have found many forum posts asking about it, but I have yet to see an actual response from a game master or administrator. I am not complaining or anything. I love nost and am very thankful for the service you guys provide. But, I wanted to at least try and figure out why this happens without fail every single night. I know the servers arent down because my friends are online waiting for me to log on. But, it usually takes me an hour + just to get into the game, but sometimes longer because the loading screen will never let me in the game and finally disconnect.

I would very much appreciate some sort of response on this issue. Are you guys like backing up the server at this time or something and thats why it causes the log in servers to fail? Or is it something else? Any information would be great and is there anything I can do on my end? Also, I'd like to note that at other hours, i have no issue or latency and I can always log into the game. And at the times i cant connect I can do what ever online and I can play any game i want online without failure. So in conclusion; Its only the nost server I cannot connect to.

I would say the chinese players are causing this to happen because it wasn't this consistent or bad before, but no, you are automatically a "racist" and threatened with a suspension if you bring up the issue, which is a serious issue.

Ohh please, the chinese community has nothing to do with this, its called racism.

The server is just overloaded as f*ck. 10k players is just too much.

(PS: The chinese population is only a minority of the vast amount of people online)

Dish pointed to the reason for the issue. ^^
You could try logging in ASAP after you get home from work if it is before 5:30am server time, or just wait til after about 6:00am. Or just stay on the retrieving character screen until it loads - it will eventually clear up.
