Ping issues as an Australian

Hello! When I first started the server a few days ago I had a ping of around 350ms on the Pve server. As of now I have 550ms which is kind of frustrating, fyi my internet is fine on my end and is at maximum speed.

I was just wondering if there is anything that I can do to lower the ping down a little bit or if there was a server that would possibly have better ping for me :)

Thanks in advance.
P.S if you are Australian let me know what your ping is

What is your average ping lets say on retail, connecting to EU servers?

Fun and rough math:
Sydney, Australia to Paris,France - 10500 kilometers. (21k back and forth straight)
Lets assume you connected straight to Nostalrius PVE with fiber cable, right from your computer into their server, skipping all hubs and etc.
Knowing the light speed and distance we now calculate that light will travel ~21.000 KM for about 70MS.
Admit, that 70MS is the time packet need to travel from you to the server and backwards WITHOUT even being handled by your hardware/isp/hubs/nostalrius and so on. And don't forget to add the time needed by server to receive/process/send your packet.
Imagine your packet travel from you to some sort of cloudflare server located in lets say somewhere in US, than travel to WoW server and after all this adventures travels back the same way. (I'm not saying it is working, it is just an example)
To give you an idea of what the result be, my average latency to Nostalrius pvp is 30-50ms. Connecting from Moscow with an fiber cable from straight from my house.

So for me 300ms is pretty reasonable, however this math is super rough ofc ;)
(By the way, calling ISP and asking for a "tunnel" worth a try. (Don't know if its ok in Australia to do so))

I'm now interested what latency have your fellow citezens.

I appreciate the in-depth reply deep!
As for my ping on eu retail I don't have a clue I've never tried getting onto eu servers as retail has oceanic servers. Yet on other games that only have EU/ servers I usually have about 300-350ms. Just out of curiosity what exactly is a "tunnel"?

Lets say there are some cases, when your isp (intended/not intended) sends packets into different direction, even if you needed quite the opposite way.
Try to do a pathping, also known as traceroute right to nostalrius realm list. You'll see all places where your packet was processed. You will clearly see if it is going the right way or there is a huge loop you need to get rid of.
Having all this information will help you to resolve your problem.
(It is okay if the end point (server itself) won't pong you back, i didn't test it tho)
