Father and Son on same IP

Hello, I just wanted to make this post to be extremely cautious. I really enjoy your server and I am absolutely amazed at the amount of people playing, even in starting and middle zones the zones are full of people running around.

To the point: I convinced my dad to sign up and play as well and we are both playing in the same house, same IP. I read about your guys' policy of multi-boxing and other ToU and just wanted to give the heads up that we aren't doing that, cause I don't want to get banned, even accidentally. I did a lot of digging around trying to find a way to get this message to you GMs but this was the best I could find cause this doesn't really qualify as a "stuck" request =/.

I don't know how much info. you'll need from me so I'm just going to wait for a response or message I guess. I'd rather not post my acct. info for the entire world and my mother to see lol.

Thanks in advance for the responses!

Playing with your father or other persons using same IP address is no problem as long you are both playing a character each.

Also, do never use /follow - not even for a short AFK, since this can easily trigger a multibox report, and technically you are when one of you go on /follow.

Okay thank you very much! I'll let him know. He went to the bathroom yesterday and followed me as I ran into town.. I want to be cautious not to get banned or suspended for anything so i'll let him know not to do that anymore.

So for myself, I am playing with 4+ computers in the house, all on 4 separate accounts, with 4 separate people. Are you are saying that we cannot at any point put one of our 3 other party members on follow, even to go to the bathroom or "train run" across the zone while travelling? Why is it that this "multibox" report would be sent? Is it sent automatically or do people have to report us?
Sometimes one of has things to deal with in the house for 5 minutes or so if the animals get into stuff.
So would we have to constantly wait for every little delay, no AFK's at all in order to continue grouping together? If this is true, it seems very unfair towards households with multiple players if we cannot use /follow at any time...seems it would REALLY put a handicap on leveling as a group as we are doing currently....

This cannot be true... is it? ....Nostalrius plz respond back :) I dont want mine or my friends accounts getting banned for simple playing the game and using its features properly....

Greetings,

you can use /follow. We do not automatically ban multiboxers. They get monitored and if the infraction is confirmed, you first get a warning. The second infraction leads to a permanent ban.

The GM team.

/follow is not bannable in itself, and there is no automated system to detect that (at least I think not).

But when you use /follow, you are often AFK and thereby technically multiboxing. And if a GM suddenly appears and the other player isn't there, then you are in trouble. "He is in the bathroom" is not an accepted excuse - and therefore /follow is simply not recommended.

If a player need to go AFK, simply just wait for him to get back. It's not worth risking a ban to skip 2 minutes of waiting.

I can confirm this. They monitor this and the GM will port you and ask to move simultaniously if not you get a warning. So dont play multi client or self boosting.

This question has been answered. It is not an issue. Try to limit the use of /follow though so we don't have to evaluate whether you are multiboxing or not.
