Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

After completing the quest 'Battle for Alterac' (win 1 AV) the quest 'Hero of the Frostwolf' became available, which awards the Ice Barbed Spear that I (like any other warrior at that lvl) really need. After accepting that quest however, I couldn't turn it in at the questgiver 'Voggah Deathgrip'. Instead, the yellow question mark went to an adjacent NPC 'Warmaster Laggrond'. He gives a quest 'Legend of Korrak' which also awards the spear. Even though he has a yellow questionmark I cant complete the quest now. The hero quest is also removed from my questlog after "completing" it (I didn't).
