LOGIN ISSUE FIXED:)

for those of you with similar log on issues:

My issue was that when I entered my user and pass, it would log me on to the point where it says "connected" then I would immediately be "disconnected"....It did NOT ever say UNABLE TO CONNECT, so if you received that message you probably have a different problem .

I tried all the same junk that im sure everyone else has where I:

-deleted folders (wtf, wdb, addons etc)
-entered realm lists login/login2 etc
-opened up ports on my router
-allowed WOW through my firewall
-copied over the .exe
-waited 3 days for it maybe thinking i was banned
-and on and on

So, one thing I noticed when I got into the login screen was at the lower right hand side of the game, it tells you what realm youre playing on. You will see the greyed out realm below TERMS OF USE and above QUIT. For me it said TEST REALM - ISV V2. This apparently is/was the problem because it should say NOSTALRIUS BEGINS (Tomeeeo and my buddy pyro ftw).

Dont know how I got to the test server, but if I did it other people must have too....maybe it changed me when the server crashed?? seems odd but who knows.

HOW TO FIX:

#1)
-make sure you are using the right realmlist, I am using:
-realmlist login.nostalrius.org (find the file named realmlist and open it to make sure)

#2)
-Open the WTF folder
-copy the Config file(right click and copy)
-make a new folder on your desk top and paste it in(just incase you ****up)
-open the original Config file in the WTF folder
-press CNTRL+F to open the find feature and enter REALMNAME
*note- if it finds it and you accidentally click somewhere and you lose the highlight and try to cntrl+f to find it again, it might pop a message that says unable to find....just close the window dont save anything and open it back up and try the cntrl+f again*
-once REALMNAME is highlighted, you should see your realmname in quotations following it
-whatever is in there replace it with NOSTALRIUS BEGINS
-so it should read............... SET realmName "Nostalrius Begins"SET cameraYawMoveSpeed................etc
-save it
-close it
-play it

-oh ya if it works just delete the folder u made on ure desktop, youre good to go.

all my info was correct in the WTF config file + realmlist

still DC's me everytime - and it says test server as my realm

i didnt read your whole post, but i worked it out.

Simple fix, Log into ANY other private server. then back to this. its resets the default realm and puts you back to realm list rather then D/C

Same here. Don't think its a config issue, but a server one. I had the same issue as you, then switched to my phone tethering and was able to log in for a few min before losing connection, when I tried to log in again, started getting stuck on realm selection on phone too.

They might be doing maintenance or something.

yea i just keep getting sent right back to the server list..

very strange problem. it seems common too considering it says population low and normally the population is high

When I got to the config file is says "Nostralius Begins" in the config file where you suggested, but it's defaulting me to one of the test servers.

Apparently my config is being stored elsewhere and I can't find where on my computer. I recopied the files to overwrite the existing one, and even tried loading into the game with the config file deleted. I am permanently blocked from logging into the game on one of my computers now.

This fix isn't working for me. At all. No matter how I change that config file, or the realm list, it still wants to default me to the test server on one of my computers. Even ran it with both the config and realmlist deleted and I still can't fix it.

I have no idea where it is reading the settings from at this point but I can't access the server on my main PC anymore at all.
