Chat log does not display text

My chat log doesn't display anything i can see chat bubbles but the chat log does not display anything. How do i fix this, i have tried reconnecting a few times but i lt doesn't fix it. I made another character on the same server and the chat log does work on that character but not on my main.

Because I believed the low level chat filter prevented you to talk, but that isn't the case if you are 18.

Ohkay well it worked from 1 to 18 but when i logged in today it just didn't work no general no party nothing i can still read chat bubbles so dungeons are still possible but its really annoying and i miss general chat

Try this:

1) Leave all chat channels by typing /leave channelname
2) Close your client while you're in a capital city
3) Go inside the WTF folder and find the chat cache file for your character - delete it
4) Relog back to the game. You should now automatically rejoin General, Trade and LocalDefense and you can join any custom channels you use.

Doing that should ensure that your channels work properly.
