Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hi there, I was able to play a bit of Nostalrius at home for the weekend, but once moving back into University halls I am unable to play again. I am almost positive it is a port issue because the University likes to block certain unknown ports for security reasons.

I am able to login to the "Logging into game server" message at the character creation screen, though this is the furthest it will allow me.

I am aware of certain VPN's to bypass proxies, and have tried a few so far, though these have their downsides like slow internet speeds and limited access / trials etc.

Just wondering if anyone has shared the same problem and has a stronger fix for a problem like this, as I really want to play on the server problem free

I got this problem too
as I know all the ports that mentioned ( http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1860 ) are opened
I can connect other private server but in nostalrius i'm stopped at logging into game server
