Sound issue in game.

Hey everyone, i got a new Asus computer. Installed and loaded up the game and everything works fine, however general sound is very finicky. It fades in and out. For example, If i cast fortitude on myself, the initial sound is normal, loud, and then for the duration of the fortitude sound alone, it fades out to un-hearable. All sounds in game do this, even the music fades in and out over a few second period. so as i'm questing, moves, have a loud initial sounds and then fade, its definitely not normal. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell by my crappy description of the issue if you have a fix. The new asus comps have a bunch of audio stuff and I've turned it all off or set it all to normal, it seems to be in game, as any other game or program, spotify, youtube, everything else sounds normal. It even happens with the music at the log in screen, its loud then very quiet, loud very quiet. Anyone happen to know a fix for me to this? or has anyone had the same issue? It's only with this game.

The only thing I could think of is your audio drivers are possibly out of date or there is another program, like some that you spoke about that were installed on the computer, that is manipulating the audio of the game.

I would triple check to make sure all of them are disabled and nothing is affecting your windows audio mixer.

I've seen this problem a couple times now. I have not read anyone's solution to the problem as of yet, although it's possible something was posted. here are some links I found. If you find a solution please post it.

Well, choppy and fading are different symptoms. I would suggest the OP read his owner manual to see if there is an "audio normalization" feature in his drivers or his audio post processing software. It sounds like it is trying to normalize the audio. Starting loud then fading to quiet.

Have you tried any other game circa 2005 using old DX audio algorithm seeing if it is a DirectX issue/misconfig for older DX? I think in 2005 we were on DX 9.0?

Edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectX DX is used for audio as well... inb4 some people claim it is for video only.

Although the OP in thread linked referred to his symptoms as "choppy" the 3 links I posted are in reference to choppy, fading, and/or compressed. Until someone posts a solution to their individual problems, it's advisable to seek all input until a resoltion is discovered instead of dismissing what has not yet been tried in these forums.
